Several of Dr. Hafner's extended family have pilot licenses. Having been around small planes since a child he requested and was granted the right to obtain training from the FAA to be an aviation medical examiner. To fly you most show competence in how to fly an airplane and also pass a physical. Dr. Hafner is approved to perform FAA class I, II and III physicals. Dr. Hafner will be happy to help any pilot or pilot to be go thru this process. For those pilots who have lost their physical Dr. Hafner will help you get back into the pilot's seat. We will provide you with a basic medical if you choose to go that route to certification.

While he had training in this area as a resident he had not been using it. To help those that have these problems Dr. Hafner is approved by the DEA to do outpatient treatments for opiate dependency. The office has working relationships with the many agencies that work with addictions in our local counties in upstate NY.
